Jordan takes part in Mobile World Congress 2022 in Spain

Amman, Mar. 13 (Petra)- Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Hanandeh, participated in the activities of the four-day Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022, which was recently held in Barcelona, Spain.

According to a ministry statement on Sunday, Hanandeh said Jordan has witnessed "remarkable" development over the past decades in the information technology and services industry, seen in its "high" level of competitiveness, which is viewed a leading sector in the Middle East and North Africa regions.

This development contributes to making Jordan an "attractive" center for partnerships and local and foreign investments, which carry out innovative work and services in various fields, Hanandeh told the annual trade show.

In addition, Hanandeh took part in the Ministerial Programme organized by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), which saw the participation of 140 ministers and 10 Arab counterparts, to discuss the latest technologies related to the fourth and fifth generation cellular networks.

On the sidelines of the GSMA's forum , Hanandeh held meetings with a number of ministers, gov't officials, and key telecom leaders from across the world working in the information technology and communications (CIT) field, and went over cooperation in related fields.

Touring many startups and pioneering companies to check on the latest technical solutions for digital transformation, the participating Jordanian delegation highlighted priviliges of investing in the Kingdom's market, the statement said.
